Re: wood adhesive

HMMMMM, for them I think as long as there is a glue word on the product label , eh pare pareho na rin mga yon !!! 😀

Thanks po friend willyfernando for the offered guidance but what I meant on my last sentence quoted above is for the sales reps/clerks " FOR THEM " , the sales reps/clerks have this perception that maybe as long as there is a glue word on the label of a product, eh they will offer to non knowledgeable customers just to be able to make some sales and possibly for them they don't know the difference between an ordinary ELMER' glue and a "carpenter's glue" which is also by ELMER's Glue manufacturer.

ANYWAY friend I do appreciate the offer, thanks a lot and have a peaceful day. :thanks: 😀

Re: wood adhesive

That i understand Bro. Since you are involved in metal and some woodworking i have a few chemical developments that will make both fields simpler and exciting to work with. Take care Bro Rosy.

@willyfernando,

Medyo Off-Topic ito kaibigan, though somewhat related din sa adhesives. Are you available on the 28th of this month, that is a Saturday ?

Because bro balarila will host an EB seminar sa residence nya sa Antipolo, topic is " EPOXY WORK ", anyway naman eh malapit ka sa Antipolo, a stone throw away ika nga, please do join if you are free that day. You can sign in on the thread EPOXY WORK by bro Ding. Thanx.

Re: wood adhesive

Wood glue is an adhesive used to tightly bond pieces of wood together. Many substances have been used as glues. Adhesives are typically organized by the method of adhesion.

Almost wala na din, got a few smal bottles from Ace-ypermart Makati a week back. There was 1 bottle left. Try asking Ace if they can get from other branches.

Never tried this one, what i have tested and used recently is Pioneer's Builders Bond. Water and weather proof, dries fast and superior bond strength medyo mahal nga lang at around p130 per cartridge and kelangan ng "gun". I used this when I built my bandsaw and my speaker boxes.

Re: wood adhesive

Read back page 3 at the bottom, stikwel was mentioned by willyfernando.

Actually pwede naman talaga maski alin Stikwel, Pioneer Carpenter's Glue, or Elmers Wood Glue, lahat yan pwede i-glue ang wood and when the glue dries talagang makapit. Ang importante ay yung durability ng dikit. On my practice boxes using palochina, just after six months at umorong na ang kahoy or ng mag-contract na, natanggal ang mga dikit sira ang box, Pioneer carpenters glue gamit ko nun. Dun sa speaker boxes ginamit ko Builder's Bond wala naging problema, yung 5 jewelry boxes na ginawa ko 2 years ago using Elmer's wala pang nagrereklamo.

Thanks bro armand. Tho binasa ko yung buong thread, namiss out ko ata yung part na yun. Anyway, I did a test yesterday using stikwel and elmers carpenters glue. quick check ako kaninang umaga at mukhang parehong matibay. mamaya paguwi ko pipilitin ko sila paghiwalayin at tignan ko kung gaano ba sila katibay at kung sino unang bibigay.

Yung elmers kasi may noozle applicator na at tantyado ang amount ng glue unlike stikwell you need to use a stick then messy pa in closing the plastic before folding it again inside the plastic container. 😉

Re: wood adhesive

From personal experience (though not scientific) I'd rank them this way (Last is best) in terms of strength/durability.

Stikwell
Elmer's
Titebond II
Titebond III
Epoxy

Of course, ranking may change depending on your project's needs. For example, Titebond III is stronger and waterproof but may leave a dark line between jointed parts so may not be good where you want a seamless joint. Epoxy is strongest but tough to work with.
