Curious, though.
Did you apply polyurethane on top of hardwood oil? If so, did it stick ok? And why put oil first; why not go straight with polyurethane?

Yes it sticked ok, I let the wood oil dry first before applying the poly. As what the masters advised me, the wood oil will preserve and enhance the wood color and grain then I applied poly for more protection and slight shine. Actually it's double purpose, the oil will darken the wood color to almost the same shade as when applied with poly alone, so if I miss a spot when applying poly, it won't be noticeable,hehehe...:rolleyes:

Thanks. You said it, very hard to execute, I began to have chronic stiff neck after I started this WIP, but it's worth it after I saw the transformation of the ceiling, though I know it would be easier if I have scaffoldings. (kala ko kasi mag volunteer ka mag apply ng shelac nung start :D)

Very flattering, thanks. I know its not perfect finish 'coz I single handedly did everything, from cleaning, some sanding of some areas, application of oil, application of poly, and filing of silicon acrylic in between gaps of the planks. Then after the ceiling, I started to paint the walls with a little help from my SWMBO and my 7y/o son. My SWMBO is so very proud that she keeps on bragging to my in-laws that I'm the only one who did it.:clap1::thanks:

Sayang! Kung nalaman ko lang agad sana na ikaw mag-shellac, binakbak ko sana muna kisame ko at di ko na ginawa, mas maganda pag shellac:naughty2::loopy:.
