Good day everyone,

So happy at meron palang pinoy handyman na website.

Madaming salamat.

we may have made pocket hole jigs in the past using wood and two step drilling but we found out that the wooden jig may not last long and cumbersome to use in the end..a good counterpart to Kreg jig is the general brand sold at Panda.

but the most important thing is the square drive screws themselves...i am not sure if Panda is also selling pocket hole screws..i forgot their number but i will post it as soon as i can.

Is it ok to use Phillips and slotted screws for pocket holes?

yes you can!

but it is not ok for me...the square drive screws has about 12mm of unthreaded length and this is the trick to pull the two woods together which is not possible with regular screws with full length thread...

the idea behind making the pocket hole is to make a pocket hole for the screws..meaning, you want to hide the screws...

so yes you can.
