Hello Wood Masters,

Need your advice and expertise on my project. I'm planning to build my son a wooden rocking horse as my first ever hand-built gift pero di ko alam kung san mag sisimula. Baka pwede nyo ako matulungan.

1. Project Plans and patterns - i just wanna make it simple as these ones right here

if you happen to have the exact plans and patterns for any of these particular rocking horses, i'd really appreciate it.

2. Materials and tools (particularly the type of wood)

3. May bilihan ba ng woods and timber sa binondo that i can use for this project?

I'm a newbie in woodworking.

thanks, masters.

Re: Wooden Rocking Horse for my Son

I'm no seasoned woodworker but I think a jigsaw for cutting and a router to trim the edges would be the main tools.

This would really be a worthwhile project to build. Something that will create lasting memories. Kudos to you brother.

BTW I myself prefer the third photo design.:attack:

Re: Wooden Rocking Horse for my Son

From your current set of tools it looks jigsaw is your only option, just use the proper blade though the project you want to build is suited for bandsaw.

Kaya ng jigsaw yan medyo mabagal lang pero you will enjoy building it.

Thanks Sir, just wanna know what type of wood is best to use? also, do you happen to know where i can buy wood supply for this project? is there any hardware in binondo that sells quality woods?

Re: Wooden Rocking Horse for my Son

Try Wilcon they have this Australian Pine that looks similar to your model trojan horse.

Binondo sells machineries for woods but you won't find woods for your furnitures.
