since lots of the members are into woodworking as I am, I decided I start a small contest. so far I have garnered several prizes from generous people and institutions.
From Bosch Phils. (our ever supportive Mr. Golden Maranan) we have three router bits...

and from Panda (thru our good friend Mr. Edward Sy) we have a set of Gator clamps.

there might still be prizes to come but until then, there will only be two top prizes to be won.

RULE CHANGE: Sept. 7, 2010
wood sizes that will result to 1 x 6 x 24 inches would be allowed.
example: 2pcs of 1 x 3 x 24 will be allowed or 2pcs. of 1 x 2 x 24 or 3pcs of 1 x 2 x 24 inches will be accepted. these combination are allowed but not in shorter strips. it has to be 24" lengths.

4. dowels can be used as long as it comes from the original piece allotted, you have to make your own.
5. a cut diagram is important but not nec., picture of every process must be included. you should make your own thread with the WIPs (Work In Progress).
6. Submission of the final item is not required as long as the WIPs are complete and each process explained.
7. This is a fun contest only among friends, let us keep it clean (keep in mind I too am a woodworker and know how to compute for the materials used on the project.)

Timeline:
the Contest starts now and will be open until midnight of September 30, 2010 ONLY
Results will be posted one week after the said date or earlier.

Criteria:
Overall Design: 35%
Approach in Completion: 25%
Degree of Difficulty 25%
Overall Usefulness: 15%

Judges:
1. Timber715 (that is me, so that means I cannot join)
2. Mr. Edward Sy of Panda Construction Supply
3. Mr. Golden Maranan of Bosch Phils.
and have chosen several people but have yet to confirm their willingness.

changes in the rules will be posted as the need arises, members joining the contest MUST be aware of these as it will be announce in this thread.

No, you can start with a fresh board and start anew. btw, you do have to post "I'm in" to join...
lets see some creativity and imagination... plenty of things can be done with this board size. No. exotic wood please. only Tanguille is allowed.
4 members can even share one 8 foot board to save money.
remember the tools you have should not be a limit of what you can achieve...
