In the Philippines? No I don't think so. As for me I learned most of these stuff from woodworking magazines, internet/youtube woodworking videos, and forums like these. Also depends on what style of furniture your interested. It can be simple/basic, classic, oriental, carved designs, turned legs...etc. A visit to furniture shops, making friends with professional woodworkers, watching how they work, tips techniques specially on what and how to operate hand and power tools. Also checking out furnitures stores to check on such designs and learn about quality woods etc... Maybe in the future one of the masters will set up TSW Timber School for Woodworkers...can't wait to apply for a scholarship:)

... Or maybe just a few training sessions... I'd be applying for a "scholarship" 😉 .... ( i remember when i joined a badminton online group before, one of the seniors - a trainer - offered free training to about 15 people. i was lucky to be part of it. kahirap din pala ng badminton. kala ko palo palo lang. sobrang fast paced.)

Thanks for the reply, ultimax. Seems like you're already good at your craft. 🙂

i actually just want the basics in woodworking and furniture making. fairly newbie here. one of the first projects i've made when i was still studying was a rocking horse for my nephew out of palo china and an old broken wooden kabayo ng plantsa (unlike the new ones with metal frame and legs). My nephew is now 21yo. But the rocking horse is still standing.

Re: Woodworking/Furniture making Training?

Thanks, guad.

Is this the one in Cainta?

A friend had their house renovated and most of the furniture were made by Focolare, Cainta. The furniture were really really nicely done. Mahogany wood.

There's also a Focolare in Tagaytay.

I think I should call Focolare this week and inquire.

Thanks again, guad. 🙂

Correct me if im wrong but i think the Focolare school is not open to everyone. I think it is a vocational school for the less fortunate.
