I didn't remove the waste all in one go because I needed it for the router's base to sit on.
Some of the cuts in the miter saw went too deep
All 4 legs done
Time to assemble the legs
Forgot to take pictures of the final assembly of the legs and stretchers. I now have a decent storage for wood scraps!
This is what I have been using until now:
Now back to building the top and installing the face and tail vises.
Sa wakas malapit na talaga matapos...when its done hope to see WIPS of projects.:):):)
Nice to see your work bench has taken shape already, I guess there will be some more additional details to be made and then we will see now continues wip project outputs !

Got the chance to work on this project today.
These 2 pieces will house the tail vise
Drilled the series of dog holes along one piece. 3/4" diameter, 6 inches apart center to center.
Dog holes done. The two pieces will be glued together much later. I put the biscuits for alignment purposes during the tail vise build
Now for the wagon. The screw is just a bit smaller than 1 inch
Drilling on the end grain. Workpiece must be securely clamped
My forstner bit is too short to go all the way through
Flipped the workpiece over and drilled from the other side.
Not bad
But worse. The vise screw is way off-center
Perfect job for Ursula's cousin
Finally!
Time to glue with the other half of the wagon
Just for kicks.
Looking good!
Almost forgot about the dogholes
One technique for cutting dadoes without measuring. First pass using the a spacer that matches the width of the dado
Second pass. Replace the spacer with one that matches the width of your dado blade. 1/2" in this case
Voila!
Some slick tape to reduce friction
Gluing the runner to the wagon housing.
With the wagon in place to keep the runner in position, a couple of brads
Slide the wagon over and nail the other side
Almost there!
Some more slick tape
Cut a channel on the underside for the vise screw
Gluing the cover for the screw side
Sir Joey81, where did you get the rough lumber?
I was also wondering where can I get good quality lumber. And how much is it usually?
I got the mahogany from South Island Lumber along Ortigas Avenue Extension in Taytay.
I got the mahogany from South Island Lumber along Ortigas Avenue Extension in Taytay.
The Mahoganys from South Island are far better than those sold at Rose Industries. Lately I bought 24 bd ft from Rose @ 120pesos per bd ft, namaluktot agad after resawing sa bandsaw..I want to return the rest na di pa na-resaw. Mas solid ang local Mahogany and mas mabigat compared sa Honduran Mahogany ng Rose Industries. Only advantage ng Honduran is less "bukong" but the color and physical apperance of both species are just the same. Will go back to South Island or Delta Woods for my next orders mas mura @ 55 per bd ft lang.
