Re: bandsaw suggestions needed
If you just need it for a small batch, you're welcome to use mine for now. Will just charge you a six-pack. I just hope you won't be cutting some ironwood-type lumber.
Best to take time to buy a good bandsaw.

Re: bandsaw suggestions needed
for the amounts posted I think they are high, are they in working order? what parts are needed and are they still available? is the Rockwell 3-phase? seems to be missing parts and lots not in the picture. these are thing you should consider...
for the price, how much more money would you still need and how much time will it take for the parts to be available if ever meron pa... you might be better off with a BRANDNEW one, might come out cheaper and probably operational sooner.
16" or 20" bandsaws does not nec mean that is the capacity, those are the wheel sizes, best to know if these cut the dimensions that you need....
though the davis and wells bs looks real cool.....

Now for your recommendation on brand new one with 16-36 vertical cut size...
Local supply please...
Is torq a good brand or theres more in binondo?

brader I imported my bandsaw.... :ninja: simply bec I cannot find one that caters to a 12" cut capacity. I have seen a torq with a 20" wheel and a cut capacity around 12" and cost 96K. Sa binondo you can spend one week looking for one and come out dry, common cut size is 6 to 8" only...........
take Dings offer if you need them soon while you order abroad, it would still come out cheaper. Unless you want to buy my bs so I can upgrade to a bigger one since I have a bigger shop coming soon :toothbr1:

Joey,
I have the actual Rockwell series in my production and it is efficient only up to 10" even w/ Fire teeth blades. The vintage bandsaw of "isaparedes" I've seen before in his yard in Cavite and I'm afraid it's not even close to what you need. I am cutting 12-14" on a 24" flywheel w/a 5hp motor and that's the best depth it can reach. There are Taiwanese models that will fit your need but expensive. If you are on the look out for 2nd's then you may have to search in Taytay. There are a lot of shops w/ that throat capacity that have closed recently. You might stumble on a good deal by asking around. Not all bandsaw models will perform as expected even w/ a deep cut or throat capacity. It will depend on the unit's design, condition, blade specs, the wood species and operators expertise. Some of my experienced workers still break expensive blades once in a while. If you are expecting to cut a large volume of wood on a regular basis then a Brand new unit is for you. Try Golden Bell in Bonifacio Ave. in La Loma. They are listed in the yellow pages and can be googled locally. I have a RESAW that came from them. It's designed for 3" wide blades w/ a 30"- 32" flywheel diameter. It's Japanese and a beefy vintage model. Good luck and good hunting.:)
Re: bandsaw suggestions needed
