I had the chance to try my hand at Jay's Bosch 4100 table saw, and needless to say how impressed I am with its performance, I decided to get my own with the gravity rise stand.

I want to give myself a chance to give it a whirl before I start making a review on it. but initially, it is getting good results from me.

Re: Bosch 4100-09 Tablesaw, and now there are two

what separates this table saw from Makita, Jet and Torq is the true riving knife. others only have a splitter and will have to be removed when doing non thru cuts which is a cause for kickback.
here the splitter is shown rising above the blade.

configured as a riving knife, the splitter can be lowered by releasing a knob near the blade side tool free and would allow non thru cuts with safety in mind.

and the smart barrier assembly has a fork like metal stop, that limits your hands from getting into the blade, but you do have to set the blade to the correct height for it to be effective.

That's a good price for the (arguably) best portable contractor saw in the US market.

Now let's see some custom made accessories from the Master Jig Builder.

Re: Bosch 4100-09 Tablesaw, and now there are two

my first crosscut sled build.
made runners from edge band materials. handplane to size (snug fit)...

raising the runners with coins, I then added drops of superglue on the runners, I laid my board on top using the fence to make it square and at the prefered area.

clamped until dry with very little force.

as soon as it dried, I screwesd the runners in place.

Re: Bosch 4100-09 Tablesaw, and now there are two

raised the blade making sure that it is suppoted by clamps

I later screwed the lower guide with one screw so I can adjust using a tri-square...

I the added the front guide just for support and made the complete cut.

made my first cut and, Wow, perfect on the first try...

that made my day... made several more cut just to establish a side and the all came square. the runners were perfectly snug and has no play. naka-chamba ako. hehehehe

Nice saw there Timber. I'm just curious is it that much more expensive to buy from the local distributor, or isn't there one?

here is the giveaway picture...

I will still have to reference the cut, marked with the Incra T-rule..
so today, I made the cut and aligned the jig to the base and screwed it together.

made a test piece to check its spacing...

whaaa! they fit on the first try.

must be a fluke due to the stock thickness (3/8" thick only) so I made another test cut. this time on 1/2" plywood.

just like the 1st one. they do fit great. snug as a bug but not too tight.

Re: Bosch 4100-09 Tablesaw, and now there are two

from Violaine

finally finished the 4100 table..the stand that came with the unit isnt practical for me to use..my intention is to make my workbench as the outfeed table when cutting wide pieces...the stand in the meantime will occupy one corner of the dungeon.

consisted of 3/4 ply with supports butt jointed and glue here and there sparingly..joints are supported by 2" drywall screws..primered with acrylic putty and the 3 coats of acrylic weather proof paint (brick red, a roof paint actually)..four locking casters in place..need to install three more at the midsegment.

the empty space on the right will occupy the 2000 watt transfomer while in the other i will make a drawer for the TS accessories.

havent finished the solid wood trim though.
