yes, the top front acrylic is heat bent, no Jay the hose is fixed where it is but can move from side to side depending on the size of cut. I do get 80% of the waste from the cut, but I still have to make modifications when I find the time to increase the efficiency , especially in the front portion. I reckon it would only require a little mod and it should perform to about 90%, I do doubt that anything of higher efficiency than that would be close to impossible. maybe a flexible material in front could do the trick, I only need extra time... something I don't have now... lol

How do you like your Freud Blade? This blade below seems reasonably priced. At least when it dulls up one does not feel that bad compared to a WW II unless it can be sharpened locally to factory specs.

Jay, be careful lang purchasing the new Freuds, I was told that there are already chiwanese made ones. look for the usa made ones...

All the while I thought all Freud blade products were Made in Italy.

That's not good. Freud quality will surely slip considering that these are blades.

Ridge Carbides seem to have good reviews. How about that Jap blade you use to mention before. Tenyru or something?

yes Tenryu, got good reviews as well as Ridge Carbide, waiting muna mode until the Freud arrives in June together with my forstners... not really busy, making templates lang for an unusual speaker housing...

Freud D1040A Diablo 10-Inch 40-Tooth ATB General Purpose Saw Blade... suppose to be a 10 pcs pack... di ba? but free is free.... thats good enough for me... 🙂

Yes I remember now. That's a great deal.

I got chance to maintain and wax the saw today. The blade was not really full of gunk but I cleaned it anyway. The saw's inside was full of dust since I can't blow it with air after use because of the ZCI plate.

How often do you guys clean your saws?

I just finished cleaning all my 10 saw blades last Friday, I usually clean in between projects when I have the time. but during the clean up I also tuned up the tablesaw...

I had nothing special to clean the blade with so I just used kerosene and a brass brush. Then wipe it up with cloth and re installed. The saw still cuts true so I have not touched the factory settings yet.

I almost installed my 40 tooth very slightly used Craftsman blade that came with my 10" Miter Saw. It looks very much like the Bosch and I just wonder if Bosch in fact manufactured the Craftsman blade.

got a chance to tune up my ts, started by cleaning everything.and since Owyn lent me his dial gauge I made the jig to hold it secure....

then I aligned the riving knife in high and low positions...


then re-aligned the fence... and boy an I a happy man after cutting pieces for the new rt... so much smoother now... 🙂
