i bought my Craftsman sa adds. will post pics when i get the time. medyo busy lang sa work.

anyways... addict yata ako sa power tools so if the price is right for the Bosch i dont mind having a 22ovolts TS since 110 volts pa din yung craftsman ko.

i feel for Ernie. i have a tool hoarder tendency. thats why i have a right angle clamp, a rotary tool, two hand planes and what not.. things i dont really use.

Somebody did say that the gts10 is more rugged than the 4100. For someone who might want to be commisioning works on a regular basis it may be best for me...

the huge splitter on this ting that pops out like a sore thumb will be a pain for a cross cut sled. but simply means the front head of the cross cut sled just needs a higher support lumber to cater the height of the splitter

with the prawls... i think we may be able to shopmake one, ay di pala.. kasi hindi riving... hmmm an overhead blade guard can be made naman

honestly if i were to get this saw it would cost 60% more than the mlt100. i got a friend who has a friend and so on ... but i would still get this saw.

the mlt100 is just so..... unrefined for the price

I am building a proper cabinet for my jet ts and a new top until a bosch TS materializes... then maybe i can sell the old ts with the cabinet ...

an anti kick-back pawl can be made very easy Ben even with a splitter.
will try to check on the GTS10 and Golden, he is in Cebu right now attending to business, siguro pati monkey b... hehehehe

the gts 10 allows for dado blades.... mlt 100 doesn't, the splitter can be removed for the crosscut sled Bee...
I have been searching for anything about this saw, very difficult since people have so much mixed reactions about it. funny that others don't like it bec of the plastic body and the old stand that they would discredit the saw... unless we can put one to the test, I still think the 4100 is a better choice since the safety features are topnotch... but the picture shown seems to point that the saw top seems very durable, actually looks better than the 4100. but like I said we can only speculate unless we see one in actual and run them head to head....

my qualm with the splitter is that i am too lazy to attach and detach between crosscutting and ripping. i am accident prone when i have to use wrenches. cut myself twice already from changing blades!

the table does look more solid than the 4100. i am glued to this saw now.... now where is my raise. Oh and i better get my scroll sawing up and running too hehehe

the 4100 is tool less for that application Ben, and from the picture, the GTS10 seems to be tool less as well for removing and adjusting the splitter/riving knife.
now come to think of it, maybe the knife can be substituted to the gts10, if that is possible, then all the features the 4100 can be available on the gts10 since they are strikingly similar to each other.

but for blade changing, you have to use A wrench only since it has a stop for arbor shaft......

My preferences (as well as price willing to pay, more or less), highest to lowest is:
a) 4100 re-wired for 220 V, imported by Bosch
b) 4100 110 V, imported by Bosch
c) 4100 110 V, own purchase and shipment from US
d) GTS 10 220 V, imported by Bosch

Voltage is not a big factor because the intended location is wired for both 110 and 220 V (step down transformer not needed).

nice choice Guad, if they can rewire the motor to 110V I want mine done too... 🙂
portability becomes an issue when you have to lug around a step-down transformer....

so far nothing beats the 4100 as of yet with its features in its class.

imho.

its a plus should the gts10 carry warranty and parts replacement locally

but of course in the absence of the other safety features...i would not trade my 4100 for the lesser evil.

I met Golden earlier and talked about the TS's. I understood that they will order the 4100 as a sample unit, not sure how many though. They will advice us thru me or thru e-mail when the TS arrives.
