Re: Bosch GTS1031 10-inch Table Saw

The top is not flat. It has a high spot just behind the blade.

Miter slot is 3/4 inch wide. Compatible with common after-market miter accessories. Like the UHMW-PE miter strip

Or the PTree miter bar

Or as a miter t-bar

The included miter gauge is quite decent, but it has some play. Your workpiece can move by half a degree.

Let's move to where the accessories are stored.

Re: Bosch GTS1031 10-inch Table Saw

Out of the box, the bevel stops are set to -2 and 47 degrees (or -2 and something other than 45).

I want it to be at 0 and 45. So I set the blade to 0 (or 90) degrees and locked it.

Then I found out that the screw for adjusting the zero positive stop is behind the blade wheel!

But that's not really a problem. I just removed the wheel (via the screw in the middle) so I can access
the positive stop screw.

Now on to the other stop. I set the blade to 45 degrees and locked the blade angle.

Another surprise!

The screw of interest is right behind the blade angle lock lever! This isn't going to be a one-shot so I just left the 45-degree
bevel stop alone for now. I'll come back to it when the need arises.

The red power switch in the OFF position

ON position

The power switch has a hole through it for locking. Shown here is the white plastic that came with the unit.

Re: Bosch GTS1031 10-inch Table Saw

Dust port

Height of the table top is a tad over 13 inches. Nearly 2 inches taller than the Chin.

So I have to modify this mobile base after kicking out the Chin out.

Re: Bosch GTS1031 10-inch Table Saw

Whoa. This one cousin is way better than what the local stores are seling. This is not the same as Jon' s grandprize from the recent bosch contest huh?

This is much like the 4100 but more compact. With every safety features the former has.

Congrats again!

Re: Bosch GTS1031 10-inch Table Saw

@JayL, @V,

I think the major difference compared to the 4100 are limited rip capacity (18 inches) and the absence of soft-start (and electronic speed control).

The rip capacity (left side) can be extended to more than 30 inches by utilizing he router table, which will be level with the TS.

Soft start... I can live without it.

Re: Bosch GTS1031 10-inch Table Saw

Just discovered what the Allen wrenches are for (well, one of them)

Its for removing the bevel lock lever. So you can access the positive stop screw.

Re: Bosch GTS1031 10-inch Table Saw

Are those features i.e. soft start and constant speed control that expensive to be standard features in all universal motors? I am no electromechanical engineer to understand these things. But you guys can make it simpler for me.
