Re: Clamps and vises thread

Muntik na rin ako mapabili ng Tsuper na yan P395/pc lang.

I'm very happy with my 2 sets pony pipe clamp. Yun 3/4" dia. G.I. Pipe ang bumabaluktot pag ginagamit ko yun clamp.

i have 4 pony clamps, which i think is enough for clamping a side of a chair.

but not enough for clamping long and wide panels like table tops.

i still use the truper when the "needs" arises.

planning to buy 4 or more pony clamps, but never the truper. 😉

when i have enough pony , best is to dispose the truper...;)

These Ponys are fast becoming my favorite for quick clamping. These have enough ooommmph to do the job I want these to do ... and some more to spare.

Re: Clamps and vises thread

^Those clamps are quite good specially in handling smaller width gluing. That's what we used in the legs of timber's workbench. So don't fret as long as it grips right, that's ok.

Are these available here or did you get them abroad?

Re: Clamps and vises thread

Any recommendations for a good front vise?

I already got the Record tail vise at Panda. I have an upcoming trip and plan to get a front vise from Amazon for a workbench to build someday.

Presently considering the Jorgensen 41012 Woodworker's Vise. It has 3-1/2-by-10-Inch jaw with 12-Inch maximum opening. Seems expensive. Am I buying too much? Never had to clamp down 12inch stock. Would you recommend a smaller opening? Or does size matter when it comes to vises?

why not get a 52 1/2 record at Panda as well Ding, it is what I use on my wb or you can even get the 53 model, which is slightly bigger and what Jay uses......

Re: Clamps and vises thread

Saw that, too. Looks good; made in China. Just thought you got it because it's the only one available locally. But, hey, if you recommend it, then that's what I'm getting.

Re: Clamps and vises thread

If I'm going to get a front vise for a workbench build I will surely consider getting one with Quick Release.
