Re: DeWalt Router (DW618)

The reason I bought this is because it has 3 bases 3 routers price of one, my first choice is the locally available 3612.

Fixed base.

What’s on the box.

Included in the package are these centering Jig.

It helps center the base plate to the collet , it works with every routers.

Re: DeWalt Router (DW618)

The motor is variable speed and soft stars, the softest start I ever try.

All weather switch.

And what I like a about it is that the electrical chord is separated from the motor.

Re: DeWalt Router (DW618)

It has a quick change latch for all the bases changing from one base to another is a breeze.

For fixed base and D handle dept adjustment is quiet simple just turn the adjustment ring clockwise or counter clockwise to achieve dept desire.

For the Plunge base it has a built in dust collector w/c you can plug to any standard shop vac. Also like the balance when the motor is attach to all 3 bases

Re: DeWalt Router (DW618)

All 3 bases and motor housing as I inspect it is very well made in fact rate from 1-5 5 is the highest I will rate this router 5 for the outer construction as I’ve said I never had a chance to play with it yet so haven’t really knows its durability but construction wise I will rate this a 5.

The collets both ½ and ¼ is pretty tinny compare to my Triton but comparing to other routers falling to its line it’s the same, except for Porter Cable.

Re: DeWalt Router (DW618)

the best routers worldwide were made by ELU, which was later on brought by Dewalt. Hence the ELU design emanates on the Dewalt routers. Highly loved by the Americans and is considered the finest by Routerman (aka Pat Warner) as mentioned in his website "Router Woodworking"...

Re: DeWalt Router (DW618)

I’m building stair rail so chances are have to put this bad boy to work.

Dust flying everywhere pretty powerful and superb handling very balance and not putting strain to my arm.

And for the second time this is the softest soft start router I ever try considering I’m using a 1” diameter round over bit set to 5 on its potentiometer, no vibration at all.
