Try to check this. Here is where I got my idea for a homemade knob.

As for toggle clamps I buy these at Panda Construction in Binondo.

Hope these helps.

Re: doe sanyone know where i can buy knobs for jigs?

sweeeet guys

Thanks!

i will call panda araneta (i loathe driving to binondo, not to mention i have a 6 day work week.) and follow Timber's shomade knob... with less finesse :P.

Planning to attach a tenoning jig and a miter accessory in my cross cut sled. knobs will save me from clamping and de clamping all the time. I got the idea from eaglewoodowrking's super cross cut sled http://www.eaglelakewoodworking.com/post/Super-Sled-Crosscut-and-Miter-Sled.aspx

but the accessory jigs will have knobs running along the user end of the fence instead of the table top of the sled. I i think i find this simpler

Mudhut,

We are in the same boat. I asked Timber. And apprently what he does is he frequents the aluminum places and the buys the thing as he sees. Nobody stocks it regularly and i dont even think they know what it is called

🙂 🙂 you mean these? I still have these 3 with me, two of which is 21" long and one much shorter. I will need one for my router table build, who knows I just might raffle one to those willing to help my conference table build...

Re: doe sanyone know where i can buy knobs for jigs?

Here is my incarnation.

Cut knob depressions with a fostner bit then cut the knob out with a hole saw. I should have used a smaller bit to cut depressions so there would be six instead of just four but it works so next time. The bolt is held in place with epoxy.

nice work Louis, I have done the same before and they do look and turn better. unfortunately I was using scraps and the grain was in bad position that it cracked the handle. lol...

Thanks Timber though to be honest I hesitated to post it because I obviously did not even bother to sand it.

Come to think about it if the wood holds the shape well that design sure is more functional to me that a simple round one.
