Re: Help with power tools for a starter

@zepol,

anytime bro.

please wear mask and ear muffs.

high frequency ang router...30 minutes exposure can damage your hearing cells...kaya yung 4Khz na sound frequency (the usual regular conversation) will be affected.

too bad...i think some of mine are already damaged...not from the router..but from the loud earphones since hi school.

🙁

Re: Help with power tools for a starter

@ violaine

The baseplate and template will be the last things i buy for my router, except maybe collet wrenches. Medyo taga ang spare accessories prices. The baseplate and guide cost me 1.4k, a straight edge guide will cost as much also. At the same time, a small makita plunge router was going for 4.9 sa LYS.

Besides, the 3601b was really meant for edge work and light duty routing (like hinge mortises). It's not a 1.5HP beast.

But who am I to complain? I got my router for 1k. It was dirty and obviously had been used a lot, but the motor and mechanism works like new. Makita makes tough products.

Hey bro vyrus626,

Is that the Dewalt circular saw being advertised by sir JayL ? If so you bit me to it cause I was eyeing it too but having second thoughts yet kasi I have to control muna myself in spending and saving up muna for a new welder and paying pa some back taxes. 🙁

Bro naka jackpot ka sa tool na yan lalo na if it came from JayL, " MAINGAT SA GAMIT YAN ", even the price is fair who ever is the recepient of that CS. :p

I'm also a DEWALT fanatic and I love their tools too, sayang nga lang wrong timing for me. 🙁

CONGRATS BRO AND ENJOY YOUR NEW TOY. :win:

Re: Help with power tools for a starter

thanks bro rosy!

it is indeed the circular saw advertised by sir JayL. 🙂 i'm not really sure what brand to choose not to mention having a budget constraint so when i saw sir JayL's ads, i did not hesitate to grab it (having his reputation here in PHM, hehe). i also heard that dewalt is one of the best brands of power tools.

i actually haven't tried using a cs before so i will need to practice on using it first, hehe. i also think that it is really a good deal because i can say that the unit is in pristine condition with minimal scratches (signs that the tool was really taken cared of).

pasensya ka na bro kung naunahan kita 🙂

Re: Help with power tools for a starter

No problem here bro, I am glad you are happy with your new toy coz if I was the one who got it, I'll be so happy too because I know where it came from and how it was used even though its a second hand, parand brand new pa rin yan. Actually I have a CS already given by my two boys as a christmas gift, its a SKIL and do love using it. I was really holding my horses when I saw that DEWALT CS by JayL,kako wrong timing naman for me though I was really on a hunt for another circular saw kasi I will use it to cut some concrete pavers, I'll just change the blade to a diamond cutter. Maybe I'll settle for a MAKITA 9" CS, I guess hindi ma pupwersa motor nito pag ginamit ko sa concrete pavers.

Bro worry not, its good to know good tools go to good hands too, sa PHM community lang umiikot, again congrats and enjoy your new tool acquisition.

Re: Help with power tools for a starter

Yes he got it. It's a Made in USA made export model so it's already 220V.

I usually delete my ads when sold but it is this saw.

You might want to get a better blade than the one the factory supplied. I suggest Freud for your MDF cutting needs but am not in a position to suggest a model.

Timber does take online orders and I'm sure he's most qualified to give a suggestion on what blade to choose for your specific application.

Glad the tool made it's way back to PHM.
