After 3 days of browsing thread after thread, looking for reviews and equipment already used by our senior members, I had finally come out with my own shopping list. 🙂

Before I key in my CC numbers to Amazon :(, I need a couple of questions answered/clarified from our senior members.

1. Would it be beneficial to have everything in a single package? Or it's better to have it split into two small sets.

2. Custom Duty taxes: Are we liable to import taxes? If yes, is it a percentage of the total amount purchased?

3. Can somebody recommend some shipping companies that I can use? How long does it usually takes before our shipment arrive especially in the provinces.

Regards
Ray

I do hope I put this thread on the right section. 🙂

Re: Import Tax and Shipping Companies and Charges

I have bought some items from online stores like Cabelas,Amazon, Pyramydair, etc. Normally, I paid through Paypal and requested that the items be sent by USPS priority mail. Use surface mail to avoid paying custom duties. If I remember correctly, once my order was sent by airmail (FedEX) and I had to pay 21% tax on the package.

If you were to order using USPS, it will most probably arrive within a month after you were notified the tracking number by the vendor. I always receive my orders. I live in Aklan. Philpost will inform you to collect your items at your Post Office. You may need to pay a delivery fee of 80 pesos though.

Hope this helps
