price: 9800
power rating: 1500watts (wont kill the circuit breaker)
weight: I dont know. but iam 5'6" and medium built and i can carry the whole box for short distances

Finish

Just like cheap furniture, sturdy but finishing sucks. In this case the table top really needs a better paint job. The enamel paint looks like its brushed on rather than sprayed on.

Heft

its beefy for its size and i can tell you that its stable even when running.

Assembly

Its a breeze. but expect a can full of nuts and bolts and you need almost every bit of it.

After assembly (bloody ADJUSTMENTS!)

The manual says its FACTORY adjusted. However factory folks probably didnt have a try square. So the 0 degree and the 45 degree stops HAD to be adjusted. Adjusting is a pain. You need two wrenches to loosen ech set of stop nuts.

Riving (its says raving on the manual and in the world of proper terms its simply just a splitter... i think) knife is not STRAIGHT! its BENT! but you have to admire that the knife is made of extremely stiff black steel of sorts. I had to clamp on a front vise and put my weight on it to get it straight. And after 10 minutes its ALMOST straight as the blade

Table. I am tempted to slop a can full of polytuff on it to make a new surface. there are lots of useless ridges and from one end of the table to the other... its not FLAT! The wings make things worst (but then we can make our own extension wings). I did not bother installing the outfeed table extension

Scale. Ripfence and miter stick thingy. oh.. the TABLE SLED... The sled isnt well... is not form fitting with the miter thingy. Rip fence... surprisingly STRAIGHT and locks secure on the scale sled, i wish the table sled was that well.

SAW

Its 40 T TCT which cuts fairly clean. now.. the plastic insert thing. its NOT FLUSHED with the table. its actually lower than the table! which makes cutting thin stocks a problem. but this can be adjusted with some creativity and patience

Screws and bolts

The ones they provide are VERY malleable i broke one bolt (one that attches to the base of the brace of the wing extension). And i dont know how many screw where my cordless driver ate through the philips groove.

Actual use.

None yet... this will come in later. Though i did cut some few stocks but that doesnt count.

It came with a push stick, but its not very stable to use. Better make your own

Initial conclusion.

Yes it is worth the money. Yes it is safer than rigging your own table saw. And I believe that it will do a mighty fine job. Just have to be patient with adjusting... and maybe remachining the table top (i am serious).

Actual use review will probably come in after a month or so. As long as it can make use of jigs. All these short comings could be ignored

Cheers!

Ben

the TABLE SLED... The sled isnt well... is not form fitting with the miter thingy.

are you referring to the miter gauge? in the miter slot? post a picture. there are some quick fixes for that...

those bloody adjustments and factory settings... hahahaha, I always double and triple check them. especially with the fence on tablesaws.... in this case, reference it with the blade... waiting for initial findings...

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

yes Timber, The miter guage in the Miter slot.

I will post pics by tonight or tomorrow. I would love to get it fixed! 🙂

i dont suspect any problems when rigging a sled on it since there are two "sled feet" and can be positioned so it wont have any play when in use.

I also got the table saw jigs from shopnotes ... not bad for 5$ that comes with 10 jigs, so i am itching to make em.. after i stain my long bench 🙂

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

in this pic you can see that the miter slot is tapered at the end....

Here you can see that there is considerable play between the miter gauge foot and the slot 🙁

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

I need a picture of it separate from the slot. can you measure the gap? seems big from the picture.

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

The top is stamped sheet metal?

I really envy having an easy to adjust fence. The fence on my saw takes me at least a few minutes to set.

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

TImber, ill post the pic in awhile. its like 2-3mm gap

Incc, The top seems like a VERY thick stamped sheet metal. I read somewhere its cast iron? I cant tell the difference. Its stamped but its really THIcK the extension wings are definitely stamped wobbly sheet metal

Iam also going to make a zero clearance insert. the instructions i got online were actually a no brainer with a router . But i found that its less than 1/4 inch think instead of 1/2 inch thick..... sigh

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

What is 1/4" instead of 1/2"? A zero clearance insert is suppose to be as thick as the as kerf of the blade but even 1/4" is too big for a blade's kerf. Are you referring to the plate on which the ZC insert mounts? If its the plate then try using a chopping board.

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

its the thickness of the plate not the kerf.

I initially thought it was 1/2 inch thick 🙁 but its thinner than 1/4" so i have to sand off a 1/4 sheet of ply so it will sit flush with the table

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

Doesn't your saw already have it? If that plate supporting the guard is too thin how about just adding shims to that?
