Re: jet jts10 first impressions

I might be wrong but I think the Bosch model 4100 TS is issued only to the American Domestic Market. I'm not sure if it comes in a 220 Volts version.

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

hmmm i am sure bosch should be willing to bring in some of their table saws if at least 10 of us were to sort of guarantee purchase.

Count me in for one unit. 9 more to go!!! (hahaha.. that is if papayag sila)

There seem to be at least 4 threads now talking about Bosch table saw.
1 2 3 and now this

If I understood last thread (#3) correctly, Bosch is definitely importing a table saw, and it does not depend on whether there is a pre-arranged group buy by any group. Is this not correct? The only thing not yet known is what model (4100 or GTS 10 or something else), how many, when it will be available, and price, right? (Could a group buy influence any of those variables?)

I hope you can all lobby for a 220 V version of the latest model, 4100, with riving knife, during your meeting, assuming Bosch plans are not yet set in stone. (My second choice would be 4100, 110 V 🙂 )

As far as whether 4100 can have a 220 V version, if answer is no, a question to put to Bosch Philippines would be -- why not? What is keeping a 220 V version of 4100 from being produced or configured? Is it a technical obstacle or some other issue? If they can only bring in GTS 10, it would be interesting to have some insight into why that is the case.

Case in point: Many Grizzly tools, like this band saw (and others) are dual voltage, 110/220 V. If Grizzly can do dual, why not Bosch, even just country-specific single voltage?

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

Announcement to everyone,

The MLT100 is on display at HANSTOOLS shang mall. So everyone here can oogle

My impression is that iam not very impressed. i think the price is 40+ but iam sure the other dealers can give a better price than Hans.

As Violaine said the sliding table's runners are PLASTIC. its probably UMHW (is my acronym correct?), we can extend the life of the plastic runners with lubricant but like he said, it will eventually wear (or warp?)

The right extension wing is a nice touch but may also cause alignment issues. Probably best to do a fixed/styationary shopmade table extension

The fence is almost the same as my JTS 10!!!! WHY!!!!! this just put me off so bad. The miter slot is nice and straight, the jet jts-10 kasi is kinda bumpy. The miter guage is wobbly in the slot , so the dimple fix is in place.

I believe if you guys find a good dealer the price should be a little over the price of Timber's 2012nb makita thicknesser

But from what i have seen I will wait/invest for BOSCH and for the mean time i feel even more happy with my jts 10 hehehe

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

From time to time the Bosch 4100 goes on sale online. Enough discounts to pay for shipping it here.

The best deals will usually come from amazon.com , cpobosch.com and tylertool.com.

Amazon.com is the easiest place to buy since they do not require a credit card billed in US soil.

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

Finally two push sticks i have been meaning to make for a long time, both have sanding paper glued underneath. And a feather board with a machine bolt and washer assembly to fit it in the miter slot.

dang fence still flexing. This trick wroks but then ripping width is limited to the miter slot. Which isnt so bad.

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

This push block design was with the Bosch 4100 manual. Very easy to build and effective too.

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

it rests on the fence for stability? nice, now why didnt i think of that. Ill attach something similar to the shoe style push stick. but unlike yours that works mine will only work on one side of the fence..

I plan to attach an adjustable hold down attached to a miter slot on the rip fence of mine later on.

Mlt100 may have been a decent saw if it had a good fence, instead it has the same fence as the jts-10.. ngeh 🙁

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

Hmmm ... you guys have made me envious with all your nice push sticks! I used to make and use such myself but not for quite awhile. Nowadays, I usually just use whatever is lying around which is really not a good idea.

Please post better pictures of the that push stick design from the Bosch manual.

Re: jet jts10 first impressions

Notice that the stopper protruding from the bottom of the pushers in on the left. I think this is so that it also exerts a force that pushes the workpiece against the fence even if you are just pushing parallel to the blade - safer. Interesting design.

Thanks Bro.
