Re: Jointer Hunting/Show your Jointner thread

A decent 8" jointer is 60K plus , a 6" from chaiwanese will go for 20-30K

Bee, If you're willing to wait I might be able to get you a decent Japanese brute 8-10" for these prices. Just get a single phase motor for it kahit China na 3hp basta ung original Mindong or just run it thru a 3 phase motor converted to 1 phase using a decent magnetic contactor switching system. Kaya lang talagang heavy sya pero no vibrations and the work piece comes out really smooth and perfect. :samurai:

This could be another good buy for somebody who's already into serious woodworking and gearing for production set-up..

Me as a serious DIYer, i'll proceed with my build. I like building tools.;)..... :secret:(actually no cash that much)
Once I finish my dining chairs I'll start posting the WIPs here..the current status is customized pillowblocks are being done by a machinist and will be ready this saturday too. All other parts have been taken out from a decent thicknesser and ready to be assembled.

.

I saw this jointer in ARQ and LYS, almost bought it but, being 6" only its too narrow for my need.

I was close to getting a 10" jointer w/ a 3hp 3phase motor last Monday. Naunahan ako magbayad nung kalaban ko. But the importer promised me 2 units this month end so I guess there's a good chance that more units will be available. I am getting 2 units for my shop expansion. Sayang kung sakali may 1 or 2 units pa sobra.:secret:

Welcome to Phm Jojo, One of our members (Chisel) has that jointer and has been very happy with it. though he loves it doesn't ensure that the next one is made the same. best check that the beds are coplanar just to be sure.

Re: Jointer Hunting/Show your Jointner thread

Hey Bee and the rest of the guys. Sorry for the late post, below is the pic of my 6 inch jointer I got back in '99 from a parquet supplier in Q.C. It needed some restoration like paint, re-mounting of pillow blocks, alighnment, and a dust chute

BTW I saw a Delta 6 inch jointer at Sulit - http://www.sulit.com.ph/index.php/view+classifieds/id/4272850/planer

Re: Jointer Hunting/Show your Jointner thread

Haha, sure Willy. I'm not in a hurry and was just curious if the shipment made it last October. I'm in no commitment status as of now, I'll just see it when I see it 🙂
