Re: Makita 2012NB thicknesser

I did my initial run today for the 2012nb, my impressions? well let us see....
inside the box...

outside the box...

the basic tools for it is enclosed in a small plastic box that is located in the thicknesser housing.

front view or infeed side...

Re: Makita 2012NB thicknesser

side view...

and the folding adjusting lever...

reading the manual thoroughly (always read your manuals before operating powertools) I fed a test piece...

very impressive... how about we try something wider and how about a hardwood? Narra to be specific...

Re: Makita 2012NB thicknesser

the result was smooth and nothing short of perfect.

running both side I did notice a snipe about 2 inch near one end. a little tweak should cure this or maybe just proper wood preparation.

how about we feed it a narra piece filled with wild grains...

Re: Makita 2012NB thicknesser

Was entering d shop when that box was going out the door, hehe. Mayon selling that for 34k. . . A lot cheaper with dealers. This shop in cubao (rollins ata) also offered that at 28k. That's where I got my router, circ saw, drill press, etc, a lot cheaper than anywhere else, except of course for those dasma dealers. Rollins is also a makita and Bosch dealer.

Am also eyeing that planer. . Learned things the hard way, workpieces should always be flat and square, nagmadali ako at na excite with my workbench . . Pilit ang pagkakahawa dahil di pantay kahoy

anyway, really want that bemchtop planer, bumubwelo pa sa financial controller.

Based on ur initial pics, mulhang maayos na 28k spend yam

Re: Makita 2012NB thicknesser

Bro... Congrats on this new tool. I'm very positive that this will take your woodcraft to the next level.

Would a tool like this square up stocks on all four sides? Probably with the help of a jig?

Price is not bad considering the landed cost for a 110V US version is around 24,600 pesos already.

Millermatic 180 Autoset Mig Welder
Miller Spoolmate 100 Spool Gun
Victor Firepower 350 Oxy Ace Outfit
3M Speedglas 9002X AD Helmet
Makita LC1230 Dry Cut Saw
Ingersoll Rand Air Tools
Snap On Tools
Metabo Power Tools
Norseman Drill Cutting Tools
Bosch Power Tools
3M PPS

Yes, Rolin's Mercantile on EDSA. Few steps from Elektro Werk (toolsfromus). Fil-American Hardware on Aurora Blvd. is another notable in that area.
