i got the mlcs aluminum plate

it didnt have any mounting holes so the hole i gave it was really sNUG no play.

the leveling screws it came with works like a charm

the sub bases were perfectly flush, Timber suggested i slap some leveling screws underneath. i am too lazy to that today hehehe

the plate is flat as hell

attached the router table at the end of the assembly table instead

burrs were present in the leveling screws threads

it also came with a starting pin and has tow starting pin positions.

this is 20$ more expensive than rosseu... so i think rousseou is better.

for this you are paying for the metal. its cheaper than buying the metal locally hahahaha

the Pinnacle plates are really nice though, twist lock inserts sya, but Ithere is another one (benchdog yata, though not sure) which uses magnets to hold the inserts which is very nice...

i made a dent on the edge of the two inserts of my rosseau router plate to fit a flat screwdriver...at least yours are fixed with screws..you remove them with some finesse...mine?more forceful by yanking them out!
😡

timber,
this lee valley router plate and accessories is an old file of mine and i forgot all about it..thats the one i should have ordered which is actually what i really want..its got a circular brushed aluminium plate and the daunting task to me is making the recess..but hey i am willing to spend the whole weekend making that perfect circle recess.hehe

maybe next time timb, id get this onefor the ultimate router table...the rosseau plate will be made for the drum sander station.

when is the cargo expected to arrive?

Re: mlcs router plate

Prolly a round plate is just more practical as it requires less material than a rectangular one even with a square one.

A rectangular/squarish recess would be easier to make though.

Re: mlcs router plate

when i was making the rectangular recess for my rosseau plate, i encounter some difficulties...the plate itself has a 1/2" rabbet on one sidet..and so measurements need to be exacting..unlike the pinnacle plate which is flat on both sides with no rabbet (similar with the lee valley plate)..btw, the lee valley plate is 12 inch across..that is something...from the picture, it looks half its orig size.

with a circle routing jig, making the recess maybe easy.

what i dont like when making recesses on mdf is the dust and your hands are tied on the luxury of a vacuum.

mdf dust?unless your router is a festool or a triton that can be hooked up to a dust port.
