I am selling the previous Router table sans the router and insert plate and somebody reserved it already. I needed the space for the Tablesaw and that is the best option I can think of. I don't want to be without a router table (rt) so I decided to build a portable one.
started my portable router table... will just let the pictures talk...

oh, a router table improves safety and work at least three folds. work becomes safer and much easier, bringing the material to the tool especially when it becomes too small for handheld operations. and a rt will make your cuts repeatable. so consistency is better.

sir timber, you always seem to make difficult projects easy. Nice RT. i'm saving all your WIP pages, I'm learning a lot from them. Thanks and more power!
Peace!
Re: my new (portable) router table build (52k warning)
thanks j2sip, well this is the part that made easy difficult...
the handplae bit a wild grain and caught the corner of the MDF as well...
using auto filler, I patched it since it is more cosmetic than performance.
a coat of sanding sealer at the bottom portion of the top piece...
finger sticking due to a semi rough Gmelina. will be fixed on the TS tomorrow. should pose no problems...

Very very nice.

Very very nice.
thanks Incc.
so I start where I left off.
on the ts, I cut the front portion to size. with a little veneer left over from the cut. hmmm.
I then rounded over the sides of the top and bottom part.
cleaned up the route plate hole...
and rounded it up as well.

Re: my new (portable) router table build (52k warning)
made plugs for the pocket holes using a dowel and a jig on the scrollsaw.
plugged the holes and leveled with a handplane.
then I start to apply a coat of hardwood clear oil on the edges...
