Re: Need a new TS blade

Seems like not all Thin Kerf blades have the same thickness ..... some are still thinner than the others.

Re: Need a new TS blade

This is a wonderful thread! (and website as well)

From info gathered here, I placed an order for:

Freud LU87R010 10-Inch 24-Tooth FTG Thin Kerf Ripping Saw Blade with 5/8-Inch Arbor and PermaShield Coating
Freud LU86R010 10-Inch 40 Tooth ATB Thin Kerf General Purpose Saw Blade with 5/8-Inch Arbor and PermaShield Coating

Re: Need a new TS blade

Anyone ever came across the TS blade brand "FLAI" ? Is this a good brand? I need a local source of good industrial TS blades preferably US or European. Maybe someone could advise me where to get them.

Re: Need a new TS blade

@timber,

have you any experience using the Susuki TCT blade that Mayon is carrying? I remember, it was the stock blade given to me for that MLT100..the blade looks lik...e well the usual blades...but the carbide edge is very sharp...and it has a nice packaging carton..japan quality.

Re: Need a new TS blade

I've tested Suzuki, TCT, Vermont America, Piranha, LEUCO and several US blades like FREUD and DEWALT. The most abused & still sharp is LEUCO. It's a German blade that used to be carried by KICCO, the cabinet company in the 90's. Sadly they stopped importing it. Blade is really great and the tips are C4 Dyanite w/c have lasted more than 5000 passes in its 15 yrs of service.

they are Japan made NOS that Mayon sells, they are pretty decent and is what I use for my 8" CS... but since you have a P410 coming, that should be hard to beat... (actually I got one coming too) naiingit ako sa yo eh 😀

Re: Need a new TS blade

I cannot really recommend much locally, once I used a Freud, it is very hard to recommend the locally available brands...

Re: Need a new TS blade

I have an urgent need coz my blades are old and re-sharpening is not good locally. I plan to try FLAI an italian brand or maybe Hunter offered by Mario's. Have you heard of these blades?

Re: Need a new TS blade

nope, that is the first time I heard those brands. Tenryu and Forrest are other brands to consider... haven't seen them locally though.
