Dang! Got me one of those cheap Ozito Mortising Chisel Kits that one attaches to a drill press. Thought it's cheap enough to experiment with.

But it doesn't fit my Ryobi drill press' collar!

I'll probably devise some kind of a reducer/bushing to fit it in. Jut thought I'd share one more of my goofs as a lesson to any hasty dork like me.

search the site Ding, ah maybe it was in the trading section before and got removed. as far as I remember, it comes with a reducer ring... I use mine as a square chisel handheld only :p

Re: Ozito Mortising Chisel Kit

Yes. It comes with one reducer ring but still loose.

Hmmm...now, I did not tighten the bolt yet. The ring actually has a gap so can be tightened. Knee-jerk observation is that it's too loose, even after tightening. But will try tonight. Cut 8 pieces of wood yesterday tenoned at both ends, awaiting their mating mortises (for my table saw stand). I'd hate to do all those mortises manually. Don't even know if I still have my chisel somewhere.

When you say you use yours handheld, you mean you rap it with a mallet?

yes, with a mallet. I do drill out the waste first and use the square chisels to cut the corners only
