Someone's selling me a Ryobi ETS1526AL table saw and can't decide if it's worth buying or not. Anybody with experience on using or knowledge about this saw? Need advice. Thanks.

Re: please help on table saw purchase

Same model din ang nabili ko. I got it for 5.5k. Kaya lang hindi maganda ang naging experience ko. Three times kong pinapalitan sa binilhan ko. Buti na lang yung store was kind enough to replace it. First one nasunog ang motor. 3/4" plywood lang ang pinutol ko. The second one made a lot of noise after I cut several small pieces of plywood. Hopefully this 3rd one will last longer madami na akong na cut sa kanya hindi pa bumibigay.Siguro swertehan lang ang pagbili. Si Sir Ryobi may ts na same as mine. You could ask him.

I agree with Timber that when it comes to tools, you do get what you paid for.

Third time's the charm 🙂

Re: please help on table saw purchase

Hi dsam
Kevin is right swertehan lang yan …ung sakin okey ang performance nya hard woods and thick woods like 3 x 3 x 10 kayang isaw ….one thing ung kanyang zero clearance insert (zci) hindi sya pwedeng lagyan … right now ginagawa ko na ang modification ung ts ko para malagyan ng zci ipost ko na lang pag malapit ng matapos aking TS and RT workbench;)…dsam before you get the item brand new or secondhand buy off mo muna run and test or any tools and then ask for warranty miski 1 week for secondhand and then run and test mo agad sa bahay nyo just incase na mafail pwede mong isauli…..

cheers

Re: please help on table saw purchase

why not tell us what your requirements are for a tablesaw? what is your primary concern? is it performance, quality, name or price? what do you intend to cut on it most of the time and what do you plan on doing?
it is very hard to recommend when we do not know what you want/need. recommendations we make could end up too expensive or too bad performing unless we know your specifics.

Re: please help on table saw purchase

Dsam, the torq table saw is similar to the JET jts-315s. It has good reviews online. One draw back is that it doest have a miter slot. without the miter slot you practically fore go numerous jigs that you would otherwise be able to make on a table saw with miter slots

i suspect you are basing your saw purchase heavily on price.

anyhow if you do intend to buy a ryobi, get in touch with Pyth. several forum members would vouch for him

Re: please help on table saw purchase

I got my brandnew table saw for only 7.5k, Taiwan made 220v, 60hz, 2HP, 10" blade, solid aluminum top complete with accessories, fence, mitre, two mitre slots, blade guard with anti-kickback pawls. Yun lang the body is plastic, ok lang pang hobby or weekender woodworking. Nabili ko sa EY Trading just at the back of Panda Araneta near Sheng Lien Temple. Original price at alonzo binondo is 10k. I also bought there a 20L wet/dry shopvac for 2.6K

Re: please help on table saw purchase

That CHIN table saw was selling for 8900 in the nearby industrial shop to where I live, I was also temped to buy it but I am also considering Ryobi TS. Maybe you could post your first impression on that table saw. 🙂

Re: please help on table saw purchase

Thank you for your help guys.

Timber715, primarily, just want to have one which is reliable and good enough for cutting 3/4 to 1 inch plywood or mdf to make my cabinets. will be using it on my free days, but definitely will be doing lots of it.

beebeenator, yes you're right about me using the price as my basis since i'm only starting this hobby and honestly, just want to minimize my chances of being frustrated when i buy one.

armand, wow, is it good? will also check the other model you mentioned.

Again to all, thank you very much.
