Re: please help on table saw purchase
...since it is absurd to think that the nut will unwind and toss the blade spinning at 4000 rpm hitting your chest much the like a horror movie shown 25 years ago...
Wussy as it may sound, this is the main reason why I can't get to buy one. Just like my paranoia whenever I am in water after watching all the "Jaws" movie series during childhood.
If only there some sort of apron that may keep you from kickbacks and flying blades, then I'll have SOME courage to do more on my own.
Maybe this is what pulls me to hand tools...which is not cheaper mind you.
Re: please help on table saw purchase
funny that I just remembered a story that willyfernando told us and a similar incident in the Cebu ww company that I went to to help. That they will remove a fence and it will see the trash bin no matter how good or bad it is (since they prefer a clamped on type since this is what they are used to).
There are lots of ways to be safe, yes third party add ons are expensive but there are work arounds for it that invloves less expense. Shortcuts are often unsafe and bad practice.
But in the end it is up to you and we can only recommend.
We strongly oppose this practice because people with little to no background in ts's could easily think it is a good practice.
AMEN!!!!! My two cents on this.... I have spent a great deal of money not to mention time and effort to promote safety but what i got in the end is a series of accidents, broken hands and worst, amputations that could've been avoided if only my workers had the sense to understand why i put them (safeguards) there on the first place instead of insisting on their usual practice. An aspiring Woodworker should have a strong sense of safety coupled w/ the zeal of explorers. This differentiates the weekend warrior from the spirited wood worker. From a professional woodworker and a businessman whose livelihood revolves around wood machineries, this is my opinion. I hope it wears on our aspiring woodworkers :old:
Re: please help on table saw purchase
Chin's arbor size is 5/8 inch. It does have a washer/flange/bushing that will allow you to use a blade with 1 inch arbor but I don't think it'll work for a dado blade.
So your dado blade has to be 5/8".
yes its 5/8"... actually I really want to know it also. minsan gusto ko na mag risk na bumili online unfortunately di ko lang alam kung siguradong darating dito. 🙂
basta ba walang warning good to go yon sa amazon?

Yes it will come. Amazon is a very safe online vendor to deal with. So far I've had 4 years of tool buying experience with them and not a single glitch. Sure there were some bumps here and there but Amazon was quick to rectify those situations.
