Doc V,

This is for you ... and the rest of us who dont have a triton router hehehe

apologize in advance for the crappy pics

ok... the scissor jack is sitting on the plywood using mounting tape, tamad kasi ako, then the spacer ply on top is also stuck on it the same way!

as you can see my UN-deluxe router table is a knockdown of sorts. So i just plop the router table top of the blue table saw stand and voila

it takes me 10 seconds to fully extend the router extension from absolute zero height.... with almost no effort!

cranking the hand crank thing slowly allows for a very precise adjustment

Re: router raizer using scissor jack!!!!!

Nice! Creating a door below with a built-in crank for the jack would be a good next project.

Hopefully you have a spare jack for your car to use in case of emergencies 😀

Re: router raizer using scissor jack!!!!!

the only drawback in this configuration is that you have to secure your plate to the top, otherwise it can push the rt plate out of level...
from here you can modify it to be driven by a drill/driver making it automated...:D

Re: router raizer using scissor jack!!!!!

last night i dreamt bee would start on this scissorjack lift!

then Jay came to the scene and modifies it...

he placed a red button on top of the table to control the scissorjack instead of the hand crank...

you think this amazed me? wait...

he was viewing everything on an lcd monitor!!!

😮

Re: router raizer using scissor jack!!!!!

Timber is right. The plate has to be fixed to the table, which i did last night using some long 1/8 countersunk nut and bolt

There really is no need for using an automated method becauce hand cranking it is really quick and easy, better than i expected. If i use a hand drill it will not allow me to do precise adjustments.

hahahah hindi ako tinatamaan naman nung allen wrench, but putting it at the side really makes better sense

i think everyone here has dreamt at least once, something that is woodworking related 😀

Re: router raizer using scissor jack!!!!!

@jonathan and bee

kidding aside, it makes sense to fortify the plate attachment.

another thing is...since the scissor jack is still exposed to the dust generated by the brute 3612, frequent cleaning and lubrication is a must for easy operation..i dont think i can do that on a regular basis.

i think i need to excavate my dungeon..i remember i have an old issue of woodcraft magazine where i saw a guy who made a router raiser for his Festool out of scrap 3/4 ply and some extra long 1/2" bolt and screws...brilliant idea actually.

we could copy and perhaps improve it and i believe it is the best that we can build while waiting for the Triton.;)
