about routers whether fixed, plunge or both.
will start with a picture and give some feedbacks and reviews as they come.
the three routers out of four in my possession at this time.

(from left to right)
Makita 3612C, BOSCH MRC23EVSK Modular Router System and a Skil 1830 all variable speed. Not included in the picture is my Triton MOF001 which is under the table....

Re: Routers.........

My very first router was a Maktec MT360 ( Feb2008 )

This router made me wonder why I never got a router earlier...

Re: Routers.........

this eventually found its way under the table.

and without router plates locally, I made one out of 1/4" aluminum plate.

and with this router I made a dovetail jig which made me do my first dovetail joint.

it did make nice tight dovetails...

Re: Routers.........

then in Aug 2008, the Triton arrived.

the earlier kit was complete and included templates and all. it also came with this...

and the wrong phenolic plate which eventually went to moji.

when the replacement plate arrived (which I upgraded to aluminum) I decided to make my second rt...

Re: Routers.........

then in Oct 2008 I got the GMR1 and immediately made sub bases for it...

with two routers in hand, and most projects were big, this saw little use. Eventually ended with another member...

Re: Routers.........

Christmas was coming and the wife asked what I wanted. Guess what I asked for? A Makita 3600H. lol. was somewhat expensive so we shared the cost and was my Christmas gift.

wanted it to be a dedicated router for my Leigh Super18

So along with the kit I also got an adapter for porter cable templates

and the e-bush template for the Leigh fits perfect...

I found depth adjustments to be limited and difficult and sold it to yet another member here and used the money to get me my next router (of course with the boss' permission).

Re: Routers.........

the very same day I sold the 3600H is the same day I got my 3612C which was Dec 15 2009. A 3hp router (the most powerful one that I own) and my first taste of variable speed.

with everything included

of course I also needed a PC adapter and it was available so I got one.

And this has been my dedicated hand-held router up to this time.

Re: Routers.........

And during our EB Aug 20 2011, the Skil arrived for me to test. but with such a busy schedule, I haven't given it a test other than powering it and test cuts. So this will follow soon.
Together with the new Bosch MRC23EVSK router combo that I received today.

and like the Skil, I will be giving feedbacks on it soon as I get to use them.
So far all I can say is the Bosch MRC23EVSK will can start and stop without anyone holding it, a mark of balance in my opinion....

Also the new features in this router is just a cut above the rest so far.

Re: Routers... my favorite ww tool

Someone showed me this flood-damaged plunge router. Might it be worth the overhaul?

Re: Routers... my favorite ww tool

HEY bro TIMBER,

Wow bro, NAHILO AKO AT NALITU NA RIN when I saw your router collections though you did not show the Triton router which like what you said found its way also under the table.

Hindi ko na alam tuloy bibilhin ko as my first router ba, I really am planning to buy one or two coz I too have many projects here in my wife's kitchen to renovate or change like the cabinet doors and drawers, they really need some face lifts already. I was eyeing two routers, a DEWALT like chisel's and a TRITON, he he he he both yellows, I think naman I won't be distracted by its colors. 😀

Timbs, is TRITON router good enough only when its under the table or what because almost if not all, most RTs that I have seen posted, its always a TRITON router that I would see under.
Have plans also of making a router table in the future.

What would you recommend for my first router and as a first time user, are the DEWALT and
TRITON routers good choice for me ? :apple:

THANKS and stay safe always. :thanks:
