got a ryobi table saw, seems pretty decent for 7k. seller said its new, and almost believed him at first because all the accessories are still in itheir plastics, and it really looks a new stock, until i saw the inside of the body, and there are some saw dust in it. . . baka tipong "class B" product - appliances that were used as demo units.
got a problem with it though, cant figure out how to tune the mechanism that raises and hides the blade. . . the far end of the blade hits the side of the blade opening (kung san lumalawit ung blade). . .
also, went thru bee's thread on his jet saw, and both ryobi and jet have very very very similar look/ structure/ make up (blade guard, splitter), even inside the body. . . even the info sticker on the motor (ung may 1500W, 240 V etc)
wala lang. . . need help sana on how this misalignment can be corrected. . . di talaga ako magaling dito . . .anybody familiar with this saw?!?!?. . .

It is extremely rare to find surplus Ryobi, GMC, or Ozito tools that have not been used. So you were absolutely right to doubt the seller.
If you post pictures I can probably help you as I've fixed quite a few of these. Some though I failed to fix :).

heres a view from the bottom (removed the blade), this is when the blade is fully raised
here is a pic when the blade is lowered, notice the change in alignment of the metal that holds the blade, with the throat opening. . .
as the blade is lowered, the motion doesnt follow a straight line.

looks somehwat similar but not identical to mine . the motor assembly is probablty identical but the table isnt. i only see four screws that hold the insert/throat plate
i think its the strafing/shifting effect similar to mine. Unfortunately never solved it. mine shifts about 3mm to the right when raised.
Rolly when you lower the blade. The blade hits the throat plate or does it hit the table na?

hits the table, throat plate is only on the right side of the blade.
thing is, when i slightly forced to lower the blade, until it's hidden, and then i raise the blade again, the position and squareness of the blade becomes ok. . . . weird. . .
question, does the same rule apply for table saws as in circular saws, height of the blade should only be a small fraction of an inch higher than the stock?

i set my blade at least 1/8" higher than the stock..most of the time eyeballing only..the idea is to make the carbide tips to breathe (i.e..to prevent overheating which can eventually burn the stock.)
its a requirement for table saw operation except when the stock is too thick and you need to do two passes on both sides to split it.
for circular saw operations, you may well pass the 1/8" inch.

but i actually havent tried to split thick stock on my TS in two passes on both sides. moreover, doing this trick will force you to remove the safety gadgets..i.e. riving knife and the splitter pawls.
i tried it before with the cs and you can feel the agony of the blade cutting well deep within the core of the wood.

what I would do is find the center of the lift and shim one side of the carriage as nec... it seems from the pictures that the installation of the carriage assembly is at fault, unles there are hidden damages, I suspect the fix shouldn't be so difficult... konti lang... 🙂

I think rolly and i have similar problems but his is worse.
My TS station's caster wheel disintegrated. The hard rubber thing well.. broke apart and only one of em. Weird hence i can probably replace that and have a geez underneath the table at the same time.

I think so Ben, but I cannot really be sure unless you invite me over 🙂 to see. the shim can be on any of the mounting screws. locating the center of the mechanism is key to alignment.

Sched namin ni Rolly heheheh. We leave near to each other lang pala. I couldnt visit him tomorrow though. And From the looks of it i dont think i can help him either. We have somewhat similar problems. The problem which i havent solved yet 🙂

There are actually 10 bolts connecting the saw to the table top, assuming this is exactly the same as the one I "fixed" awhile back. The shim will help if there is play in the vertical adjustment mechanism but I suspect the problem is a bit more complicated.
