Phenolic? Granite?...sounds good, mine are HDF boards I bought from Japan Surplus stores from their broken/unsold cabinets..they are a lot lot heavier than MDFs. I still have one door left for my RT rebuild.

One of this days bro I have to see that newly built 12" jointer of yours, to have an 8" jointer is already great but having a 12" , wow that's awesome !!!!!!!! I check again this morning his website, wala na yung link sakin at picture ko..:frown:..tinanggal nya na. Nagtanong pa sya kagabi kung wala akong suliranin sa kalog ng belt. Sayang daw di nya naisip yung spring sa ibabaw at yung dalawang turnilyo dun sa motor.

I have the same thicknesser, Armand (which we are talking aboutin a separate thread).

And I'm green with envy over your jointer. I have lots of slightly bowed raw lumber that could use a long and wide jointer.

Now, I'm thinking, if I replace my Ryobi's infeed and outfeed flip-out trays with long metal planes and somehow make them perfectly aligned with the base underneath the planer blades, maybe I could have me a combination jointer-thicknesser.

You think this would work?

Thanks, Armand. That's a very helpful site. I can see another project for me on the horizon. I don't think I can ever afford a proper jointer so will have to make do with a "jointing thicknesser".

Lately i've been dimensioning guijo for the legs of my entry way table project, checked the jointed sides and looks perfect when putting the 4 legs side by side.

I haven't tested my jointer the way you want, all i've been doing is flattening some boards. Do you want me to joint edges of two boards and glue them up after? How long the boards?

How did you know the exact size of my project?:confused::confused::p:

Tamang tama Timb I have 1x8x48 gmelinas, so 1x8 and 1x4 to make 1x12 is good?
