Has anyone seen where I can buy Spiral Saw bits?
Just bought a Powercraft Spiral Saw for P900. The seller said I could use a router bit but having proper bits is not a bad idea also.
Please don't ask me if I think it is good or not, I don't know. I've never used one of these ... seems simple enough. I only bought it so the vendor's delivery trip to my office would be more rewarding for him.
Re: Spiral saw bits
Where'd you buy the saw from?
I may need one since i may cut a hole on a tile (instead of an aluminum plater). I may use tile as a router table insert.
Re: Spiral saw bits
Is this the saw?
There's a video demo too.

Re: Spiral saw bits
Right Bee. Pyth is the swell guy. Gave me a nice deal on the spiral saw, 3 18v batteries, and a finishing sander. On top of the discount and freebie, this time I also had him come to my office because he had a car. He's suppose to bring the laminate trimmer I've been wait for next week.
Tile for a router table plate ... it would be awfully hard to cut the hole but I've seen tiles that come to think of it might make an excellent plate. Some tiles are tempered so they are really hard and do not chip or crack easily just like tempered glass.
How about tempered glass or even just thick plate glass? A glass shop could cut the hole for you and grind the edge down nicely. It is very inconvenient not to be able to see the collet when changing bits.
Re: Spiral saw bits
heheheh you reminded me when i had to drill trhough my bathroom tile... apparently it was porcelain based tile ... the damn masonry bit WONT BUDGE! for 4 holes 1 inch deep . I has to use 3 good quality masonry bits. Then later i found out i couldve used a tile bit...
I had the tile idea from a yotibe vid of a guy who used a tile as a rt plate. He used a spiral saw with a hold bit especially for tile use.
I am a bit scared of glass though. i am clumsy.. and tempered glass would still cost a bomb and they may insist a 1/2 thick instead of a 1/4 that i need.
A friend from US is coming back this may. I may just ask him to buy a router plate.
ill post the price of the alum plate on the other thread
Re: Spiral saw bits
A sailing buddy, who built his boat in my shop last year, is in the U.S. now and I just asked him to get the bits, so problem solved. A spiral saw will come in handy for cutting hatches and stuff. Router bits will work with a spiral saw but apparently not as well as the bits designed for them.
