I have about a dozen squares from speed squares to combination squares...

most are inaccurate... but the engineering square I recently had was so good, I decided to get its bigger brother...

Re: Squares

the Stanley's that I have are inaccurate that anyone wanting them cheap(half the price) can have them... and even the combination square, I use the chiwanese made one which is more accurate than my Stanley combi square...

Re: Squares

i only have the 4" engineer's square to set up my router table fence and ts blade..and dont have the stanley squares..been wanting them but since you made some accurate comments its almost instant i dont want them anymore longer.hehe

it maybe nice to have a 6 incher too but for now id be contented with my combination square for carcase assemblage works.

how much ba yung 6 incher? hindi yata stainless steel ang make?

thanks

Re: Squares

no, these are not stainless. they cost a little less than 700 pesos, but they definitely are worth the money when accuracy comes to mind.

Re: Squares

in that case, can we dip it in polyurethane?will the coat of paint affect the accuracy?

my chisels get frequent oxidation and so the inevitable rust forms.

what i did is to dip them just once in a gallon of poly and they are sealed and protected.

Re: Squares

In my case I found the 6" to be the most useful.
