...as well as google 'table saw accidents'. It is instructive to see not only graphic images of flying wood but also finger injuries. Hopefully no one will have to post pictures of their cut fingers on this forum as a lesson.

The video says 108 mph. That happens to be the speed of the teeth assuming a 10" blade going at 3650 rpm -- 159 ft/sec or 175 kph or 108 mph. I wonder whether they just computed the tooth speed, or came up with the 108 mph based on video frame rate.

I would expect the wood speed to be less than tooth speed, given the classic scoring pattern seen on the wood. I am guessing that the wood is not fully accelerated to tooth speed.

There is SawStop technology, but still relatively expensive.

i am putting over head/hand guard or whatever it is called on my cross cut sled and will use the bloody blade guard on the saw during rips....
