It would really depend on how wide the plate would be Workbench. I used 6 mm plate before but the span was too wide so there was some sag. Eventually, I just replaced the top with a solid one, no plate. A 150 mm diameter hole covered with 12 mm thick acrylic plate should be fine but you'd loose a lot of cutting depth. Best to keep it at 6 mm with as small a hole as practical.

Phenolic is solid material but it tends to chip unlike aluminum. Best would be an aluminum plate with a lift :).

ako i got this rousseau plate from amazon, kaso isinuksok nung kaibigan ko sa balikbayan box, instead of bringing it home with him this week. . . end of june pa dating dito, bad trip. . .

kaya im still on the lookout for a tempo plate, until that arrives, meron na ako very amateur router table awaiiting for a plate, hehe

same here. nilagay sa balikbayan box hahahah

june pa din darating.

I used a bamboo chopping board for now 🙂 the alum plate is too expensive

this is my very first router plate, made from 1/4" thick aluminum plate...

with my very first fence...

and my very first dovetail jig, which I made and worked....

and yes, my first real router was a Maktec...

thanks Jay for the vote of confidence, but you know what, the Maktec worked fine when I had it, my only concern was heat, not very hot, but hot. and while that jig looks crude (dahil homemade lang kasi) it worked and I was able to do dovetailed boxes with it and a local dovetail bit...

got a plate from t alonzo, store near corner of ongpin and alonzo. just need to have the hole in the middle done

Tired from work so i improved whats underneath my table saw and router table for my R and R....

best drawer alignment i have ever made!

this was how it was before.. well sort off... plus wheels 🙂

saves me from running back and forth when changing bits

i forgot to cover the underneath of the ts (with some sort of way to redirect saw dust) coz its all collecting in the drawer hahahahah

i also took out the wheels since the rubber caster wheels were cracking. I never moved this anymore anyway
