Re: Thsi is the scoll saw iam getting

for a scrollsaw, I would give it a whirl before purchase. I have seen it but haven't ran it yet.
1.a heavy base is something to consider to reduce vibration but not a necessity.
2. the blade it accepts. pin-less capable is advisable and has better option. pinned-type blades are a bit limited and thicker. a quick release is best to have.
3. variable speed is better for different materials
4. after sale support, check who will repair them and if pars are available, just in case.
5. dust collection, though dust generated is minimal, most is fine dust.
6. look for lighting accessories. you will need one.
7. check that the blower works properly, you don't want to buy extra.
8. make a foot pedal, makes life so much easier.

*** given the chance I would get a Dewalt DW788, great value for price. but it isn't available locally. So I use a Makita SJ401, vibrates a bit, but making a rolling cabinet and securing it makes it less vibrate.

I don't, but scrollsawyers swear by this model. very stable and well built. expensive too...
Excalibur and RBI Hawk are top of the heap for scrollsaws. and Dewalt the value for money. has quick change for blade changes, very nice if you will do fretwork....

Re: Thsi is the scoll saw iam getting

The jet jss - 16

accepts pinned and not pinned scroll saw blades

Vibration seems ok, although i dont have any experience on other scroll saws to compare it with. It seems stable to me

it comes with a variety of spare blades with different TPI

Just like the thicknesser feels like a good bang for buck. I havent ran anything through it yet. though

performance review will come later

Nice Jet saw Bee. Waiting for your reviews.

@Timber

Is this the Dewalt ? Yeah it's not cheap. BTW how much did the Makita one cost you?

Re: Thsi is the scoll saw iam getting

not as pretty or functional as Timber's.

I had a plywood+phenolic plywood counter top lying around for a project that didnt go through.. so i used it. 🙂 Its on wheels

will add drawers later that will open on the side. I havent bolted the scroll saw yet so i havent run it on the workstation. Will do that tomorrow.

Re: Thsi is the scoll saw iam getting

not sure if it was 175 or 375 only, just add wire, a socket and a plug and you're ready to go...
