That's a big hole. I do not think you can chuck anything to your drill that can make a hole that big. I think your best bet is a jigsaw. If you do not have one, you can just take out the blade from a hack saw or use a compass saw.

what are those 6" diameter holes for? speakers?

speaker holes need not be perfect..just maintain the blades along the saw lines.

it can be done cheaply when you have a deep throat coping saw...but if you already have a jigsaw then its the tool for the job.

for holes with perfect circles with clean edges, use a router and a trammel.

Aren't there expansive bits available for drill presses? I had the impression the radius is capable of atleast 4 inches? assuming that accuracy is important.
But then again, a coping saw is probably the best bet as mentioned...

vinch, there is a circle cutter for the drill press. from that make a template and use a router to cut your holes consistently. that is if you want them perfect, otherwise the jigsaw should work fine...

meron akong nakikitang hole saw adaptor for drills kaso maliliit lang diameter nya. ano ba ideal tool para sa 6" diameter holes? meron bang nabibiling hole saw for drills na malalaki diameter?

Nagawa ko nato dati sa speaker box ko. Gumamit lang ako ng uno por dos at 2 pako. Yung isang pako ay naka baon sa uno por dos at sa sentro ng circle, then yung isa sa ay para sa diameter ng circle, para kang gumawa ng compass, unti-unti mo syang ibabaon para umuka sa diameter. Para malinis ang resulta, ulitin mo sa likod bago tumagos ang pako.
