Just saw this vid and i'd like to share it to those who might be interested in these type of chisel.

the audio is not good but it shows pretty well how the mortise chisel is meant to be used. Works like a shovel doesn't it?

the video they are watching was available back then at FWW back then, you should be able to find that instead...

I have a Makita bit (bought 12 years ago) and a drill press adaptor but I never got around to rigging them up. I guess unless you need to do a lot of deep mortises, a router or chisel will sufficiently do the job. Also, would a mortising chisel work on soft wood like pine? Don't really know but I think the grain of softwoods would tear under a mortising chisel.

Yeah I agree bro a jointer would be more useful.
