Maybe because of the blade used. For the one I have I watched the guy cut the Stanley blade into several smaller ones. I told him what kind of teeth I wanted then came back to collect the saw when he was done. I just told him I wanted finer teeth for use in plywood but I could have specified more if I knew what was better. 🙁
I also bring it back to him for re sharpening.

wow, super pointed ha! ang tiyaga nung gumawa niyan.
i will try to do the same but finding a shop dedicated to saw repair is another problem.i doubt if hortaleza accepts a saw for sharpening.
yes, sentimental value only when it surfaced..i forgot all about it.
@moji,
i remember a rust remover fluid before i saw at handyman or elsewhere but i forgot.maybe owyn knows..the price of unsharpened stanley dovetail saw costs around 300 bucks...
unless you can give me your xmas gift for this year in advance and its like the one below (veritas lang po)
