Since Bee is thinker savy and mechanically adept why not buy an older one to restore. OWWM are always better from what I read in Garage Journal. Very few seems to like the newer Chicom stamped steel ones.

At the moment i think i would try to avoid anything that needs alot of restoration since i am actually not that confident with my mechanical skills yet 🙂

Yes Ben, Koko is one of their sales representatives there. He knows where the Hinoki's are and he can go with you in case you want to check them out. I can set it up if you like, kaya lang dapat kasama ako 😀

No need to bring a car methinks? Mayon is in -what do you call that street?- escolta. Although am not sure if that is where the warehouse is too. Just curious how good japanese BS's are.

Once talked to an old guy who worked in a davao sawmill in the 70's. Exported logs of lauan to japan. He talked about using diesel as blade lubricant (?!?!?!) and industrial belting with ply for BS tires. He said most of the equipment they had that stood up to abuse were japanese- too bad i can't recall the three brands he said were good, but one of which was hamada.

Japanese tool industry is very mature already. If it's Japanese made then most probably it will be a very good bet ..... but will come with stiffer price too.

i havent contacted hinoki yet.. having trouble gettig the contatc. i have been recommended to try "tri - gold" in pampanga.. i called them up but their technical folks arent around so will call again tomorrow

tsaka medyo generic kasi yung title..actually meron naman tindahan ng bandsaw na good if not excellent...kaso mahal talaga...their lightest weighs about 100kg and worth 100k din...and of course available locally.

pero para sa mga DIY like me, ok na sakin yung 14" grizzly G055.

kelan pa kaya. pwede ba sa online 5th un?hehe

called hinoki, they will be sending me their catalog for bandsaw and jointer. and prices.

They no longer Stock their machines, so lahat 30 - 45 days waiting time......................................... hmmmmm

Ok for a 6 inch to 12 inch cutting height sabi sakin lahat 3 phase.... i assume my house is singe phase.... is there any way for a conversion?

Three Phase is industrial power. Additional expenses aside from cost of band saw. Would be happy if more knowledgeable members can chime on this. There was a time when I wanted a bigger compressor but it was 3 phase.

Can 3 phase power be sourced from Meralco and for how much cost to install?
