Hi, I'm just new here. I have started woodworking as a hobby. I plan to buy a hand planer (preferably a Stanley #4 or #5). I am on a tight budget and want to have the best value for my hard-earned cash. Where can I buy the tool? Some say T. Alonzo's the place. Are they right? Some suggestions please. Thanks.

Haven't compared prices at T Alonzo, but I bought my Stanley and Record planes from the mall. True Value, I think many years back. Han's tools sells the Groz brand of Stanley style planes. They are a good investment to last you many many years. Might I suggest you compare prices and report back to the forum your findings.
