Re: MORRIS CHAIR, building a classic.

this is the tricky part of the building process, doing the curved BACK SLATS, in doing so, i made a

scooping jig to make the woodblocks looked curved.

you can curved cuts on a woodblanks with a bandsaw, or a scrolsaw, but ain't got any, so hope

this jig will do wonders

Re: MORRIS CHAIR, building a classic.

to make the curves complete,i flip the workpiece over and change the runner with another set

of curved, this time it's the opposite.

1st pass...

2nd pass...

pass pass lang ulit ng pass pass...

Re: MORRIS CHAIR, building a classic.

Nice jig.

Just wondering why you didn't consider heat-bending. Are the Yakal pieces too thick and tough?

I was also about to say this..though it requires long experience to achieve desired output. I plan to build dining chairs as future project and considering the use of heat-bending technique.

Wow Jonathan...your adrenalin seems to be at peak na naman...nothing can slow you down at this point in time.

Keep it going...inaabangan ng lahat!!!

wala pang alam ang inyong lingkod sa heat bending, to think that yakal is such a hardwood, baka

buto ko ang ma-bend. :p

Re: MORRIS CHAIR, building a classic.

i got the idea of the scooping jig on a WW mags making a slight depression on a seat of a stool. i

guess i might make a curved cut out of it. i have no bandsaw, and seems impossible to make

those cut on a jigsaw. thanks!!!
