Sir ang ganda ng gawa mo at parang ang dali dali lang. Pero habang tinititigan ko, nakakapanliit ang skills ko.... Paglaki ko makakaya ko din yan.
Looking forward to more pics sir. Congratulations.
Re: MORRIS CHAIR, building a classic.
your using too much glue Jon especially on the corbels. hope you cleaned them well before they set or else it will haunt you during finishing... looking good still. keep em coming.

Re: MORRIS CHAIR, building a classic.
I don't think that's glue. Palagay ko pawis ng hirap at tiyaga ng pagmamahal sa sarilihg gawa! Can't wait to see the finished art piece.:)

the pros and the grandmaster pati ng mga idol do their works, nakapanliliit, practice, practice,
practice and practice lang. :p

On the glue. What do you use?
I alwasy use epoxy, but that's because I'm building a boat where epoxy is prefered for bonding and waterproofing.

i used elmer's wood glue, wala akong makitang titebond or gorilla na availagle locally. but elmer's is
a nice glue, but these are not water proof, for internal used only, este pang interior lang
pala...:p
Re: MORRIS CHAIR, building a classic.
since i need a large dowel that i will be using as a pin for the chair, i temporarily put my incra
router plate (courtesy of the master) and put it into used, my large round over bit will not fit
into my existing shopmade acrylic plate, and so i put the incra RP into use. it has a removable
magnetic ring insert for different bits sizes. it's the first time i used the incra magnalock RT
since i got it from the master.
from the look of it, nakakatakot gamitin yung RT.. nakakatakot baka magasgasan. he he he!!!
the RP, has pre-drilled screw holes for makita 3612c base.
inserted the ring insert for large round over bit.

Re: MORRIS CHAIR, building a classic.
set the fence.
unfortunately hindi ko na nakunan ng pics yung process of rounding the workpiece, siguro sa
over-excitement na naman na gumamit ng new toy...:p
actually i started at a 1"x1" woodblanks, then run it with multi-pass.
here's the result, cut already to desired lenght.

ha ha ha, inaamag na nga sa aparador, nag-mamakaawa na gamitin na sya... kahit papano ginamit
ko sya kahit nakapatong lang. pano pa kung flush na sya sa RT?:p you are right at recommending
the incra RP, no regrets on purchasing it. 😉 thanks sa advice!
someday i'll make an appropriate RT for the incra RP, ika nga ni docV, de-luxe RT...
Re: MORRIS CHAIR, building a classic.
smooth sanded...
then run to the TS. the angled brace is added to fix the workpiece in place and safety.
Re: MORRIS CHAIR, building a classic.
end result...
