Re: MORRIS CHAIR, building a classic.

Jon, that would be safer and more consistent if you left a piece on both sides na original size. I would also prefer doing it on the rt, just a preference but I think its safer as well...

Re: MORRIS CHAIR, building a classic.

be alert too, because you might find it hard to wipe-off some areas that have dried up.

Bee you can run a rectangular stock that is half the dimension of your roundover bit. (if your roundover bit is 1/2" your wood should be 1 inch on two sides and length of your choice, roundover the four sides but leave the front and back portion uncut so you will have a flat surface on the rt...)

i have a 1" round over bits, since i need a 1" size dowels, accuracy is not an issue since i'm going

to use it as a holder or knob. i do multi-pass on the RT, flipping over after each small pass. until

you get the desired roundness. small pass for good cuts and safety ( another lessons learned from

the master)

now here is the issue, i have a 5/8 holes and i need the pins to fit

into the holes, so i fit the dowels into the DP, and sanded it until it fits into the holes.with

occasional stops to check the fit.

Sorry for the ignorance, could you somehow rephrase it again? My virtual router is having problems with this method 😀
